The SLAF Base Katunayake, Technical formation emerged champs of the inter unit squash championship-2009 after beating SLAF Station Colombo 3 rounds to 2, recently (05 December 2009). Players representing eight SLAF establishments competed at this annual sporting event held from 02nd to 05th December 2009, at the Thumulla squash sports complex.

Meanwhile in the open event Sergeant Wijetunga from SLAF Station Colombo beat Corporal Prasad from SLAF Station Diyathalawa 03 nil. Also in the over 35 category, Squadron Leader Jayawardena managed to beat Sergeant Abeysiri 03 nil.
