61st Formation Day Celebrated at SLAF Station Diyatalawa

An eventful day of community services and recreational activities marked the celebration of the 61st anniversary of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Diyatalawa under the guidance of the Commanding Officer Group Captain WWPD Fernando together with all officers, other ranks and the civilian staff on 15th October 2013.
Shramadana Campaigns at Al Badriyya Jummah Masjid Mosque in Kahagolla and Church at Diyatalawa town kicked off the anniversary celebrations last Monday. This was followed by a series of spirited Sport events which saw all members of the Unit participate in true camaraderie. The day’s events concluded with an all rank’s lunch on 15th October 2013.
In addition, the Station personnel arranged a lunch for the children at the Haldummulla Bishop Leo Orphanage and engaged in several renovation and reconstruction projects to streamline infrastructure facilities at the holiday home of Ex Servicemen’s Association Diyatalawa and Viharakelle Temple Kadurugoda on 16th October 2013.
