Inter Unit Wrestling Championship 2013

The 26 Regiment Wing of SLAF Base Katunayake (Men’s) and Supply and Maintanance Deport (S&MD) SLAF Base Kat(Women’s) won the Inter Unit Wrestling Championship which was concluded last evening (19th December, 2013) at the SLAF Base Katunayake Sports Complex.
Over 150 wrestlers competing under seven weight categories represented all SLAF establishments for this event. The Men’s Champs of the event managed to score 38 points and women’s Champs managed to score 21 points whilst the Men’s runners up SLAF Academy China Bay and Women’s runners up SLAF CTS Diyatalawa earned 13 points and 16 points respectively in the competition.
Corporal Chanaka KD SLAF Base Vavuniya and Leading aircraftwoman Indrasiri GHA SLAF CTS Diyatalawa were nominated as the "Best Wrestler “in the Men’s and Women’s categories respectively.
The President of the Sri Lanka Wrestling Federation ASP PGS Gunathilaka graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Chairman SLAF Wrestling Group Captain WMKSP Weerasinghe, senior officers and other ranks were also present at the event.
