Aircrew Water and Jungle Survival Training

The third aircrew water and jungle survival training” was conducted successfully over a period of one week at the Sri Lanka Air Force Station Ampara recently. Twenty two aircrew members including twelve Pilots took part in this training.
The aim of this exercise was to enhance the knowledge and skills of aircrew, to survive in actual crash/force landing/ejection above water or over a jungle area and to give practical experience in survival. The exercise was planned to give the trainees the required theoretical and practical experience culminating in a Field Training Exercise (FTX).
The closing ceremony was held on 18th December 2013 at the Auditorium of the Regimental Training Centre SLAF Station Ampara. Director Health Services Air Commodore DMS Karunarathne graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Certificates were awarded to trainees who successfully completed the training.
