SLAF Base Anuradapura Win The Inter-Unit Cycling Meet

The inter-unit cycling meet yet another annual event in the SLAF sporting calendar was concluded recently (12 December 2009) at the run way track of SLAF Station Katukurunda. Over 80 cyclists representing 14 men’s and 04 women’s teams participated at this event. The participation of disabled airmen Jayalath (01318) and the oldest participant being at the age of 54 (civilian worker Mr. Guruge) also created prominence and were later awarded too.
However, decided upon the time factor calculation method SLAF Base Anuradapura emerged champions in the men’s category with 05.47.37 Minutes whilst the 2nd place went out to SLAF Base Hingurakgoda (05.55.07 Mins) and SLAF Station Colombo coming in 3rd place (06.10.01 Mins).
Mean while SLAF, Bandaranayaka International Airport emerged champs in the women’s category with 03.58.86 Mins whilst SLAF Station Ekala came in 2nd place and SLAF Base Katunayaka, Supply & Maintenance Depot in 3rd place.
However, decided upon the time factor calculation method SLAF Base Anuradapura emerged champions in the men’s category with 05.47.37 Minutes whilst the 2nd place went out to SLAF Base Hingurakgoda (05.55.07 Mins) and SLAF Station Colombo coming in 3rd place (06.10.01 Mins).
Mean while SLAF, Bandaranayaka International Airport emerged champs in the women’s category with 03.58.86 Mins whilst SLAF Station Ekala came in 2nd place and SLAF Base Katunayaka, Supply & Maintenance Depot in 3rd place.
