The newly constructed shelter of the staircase at the “Mencafep”, day care school centre in Nuwera Eliya  for the differently able children was declared open by the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Neelika Abeywickrama on 21st January 2014.

The Shelter was indeed a requirement of the "Mencafep" day care school centre where 140 differently able children are studying. This was constructed under the patronage of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit by the Work Service Squadron of the SLAF Station Piduruthalagala.

Wing Commander JMCR Jayasundara the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Piduruthalagala, Founders of the "Mencafep" day care school centre Mr. Chris Stubbs and Mrs. Ranji Stubbs, Mr. Kasun Abeywickama, SLAF personnel, and civilians were also present on the occasion.
