Married Quarters Building Declared Open

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama declared open the newly constructed fourth 8-Storey married quarters building at Guwanpura on 20th February 2014 at the auspicious time of 0930 Hrs.
The opening ceremony commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp and the unveiling of the commemorative plaque by the Commander. The symbolic handing over of the keys to the recipients of the new houses was done with the Commander by handing over the keys to Air Cdre OFHV Fernando and Gp Capt.WKM Weerasekara. The Air Force Board of Management, The Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Colombo Air Commodore DJC Weerakoon, senior officers, officers and family members of house recipients were also present.
The complex comprises 28 apartments in 8 stories, with 3 bed rooms, bathroom, dining/ living areas, pantry/kitchen, servant’s bathroom and verandah in each apartment. The complex has its own parking facility at the ground level.
