“Sigiriya Rally Cross 2014”, one of the highlights of the Sri Lankan Motor Racing Calendar, was concluded on 23rd March 2014 at the SLAF Sigiriya Racing Track with a large number of spectators. The event was graced by HE the President Mahinda Rajapaksa ,Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke and the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Roshani Gunatilleke.

“Sigirya Rally Cross” conducted by the Sri Lanka Air Force in association with the Sri Lanka Autosports Drivers Association (SLADA).  It is a distinct race because of the fact that Sigiriya is the one-and-only Tar and Gravel combined track in Sri Lanka.  The proceeds from this event will go towards the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit to be utilized for the welfare of SLAF personnel.

The Chairman of Motor Racing in the SLAF Air Commodore JSI Wijemanne, the Commanding Officer of SLAF Sigiriya Wg Cdr CP Gunatilleke , Officers, personnel of the SLAF and  representatives of the sponsors of the event were also present to witness the Rally Cross.

Indian Rider KP Aravind was the Best Rider whilst Ashan Silva was awarded the trophy for the Best Driver at the Sigiriya Rally Cross 2014.
