Dengue Fever Prevention Programme at SLAF Base Rathmalana

A recent statistic shows an alarming rise of
dengue Fever (DF) and dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) cases in Ratmalana,
Mountlavenia and Moratuwa regions and also few fatalities have been
reported.
In view of eradication DF/DHF around the Base and as a community service the SLAF Base Ratmalana has planned and conducted dengue prevention activities over civilian area around the Base in cooperation with Dehiwala/Mountlaevinia MOH and National dengue control team.
The organized programme consisted with Health education/public awareness activities, removal of mosquito breeding places and environmental management.
The public gave their fullest co-operation and support for effective and sustained dengue control programme conducted by SLAF Base Ratmalana.
