23rd July was a special day for Flight Lieutenant Udith Pathirana and Udeshika Paranamanna.
 
It was the day when their dreams came true, the auspicious start of their wedded life at Eagles' Lakeside Banquet & Convention Hall, Attidiya, Ratmalana.  However, the wedding of Udith and Udeshika marked a significant event in the history of the Eagles' Lakeside Banquet & Convention Hall as well for the wedding was the 100th event  that was hosted at the hall.

The Eagles' Lakeside Banquet & Convention Hall was ceremonially opened by HE the President, Mahinda Rajapaksha at the invitation of the then Commander of the Air Force, on 12 November 2013.

In the short span of time since then, the hall has been the venue for 59 Weddings, of which 12 have been Service Weddings, much like that of Udith and Udeshika.  In addition to this, the hall has also hosted 41 corporate events, a considerable number of which had more than a thousand guests.

The Eagles' Lakeside Banquet & Convention Hall, which is the second such banquet hall to be constructed by the Sri Lanka Air Force, had the distinction of being selected as the venue for the reception and gala dinner hosted by HE the President, Mahinda Rajapaksa, for members of the Commonwealth Business Forum in his capacity as Chairman of the 23rd Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2013.
