'Ranaviru Real Star - Mission IV' Grand Finale

The Grand Finale of the Ranaviru Real Star reality show "Mission IV" concluded on 26th July 2014 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium . A record number of over 10 million SMS's poured in supporting the seven finalists.
"Ranaviru Real Star" is a brainchild of Secretary Defence and Urban Development Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa which is aimed at bringing out the hidden talents of war heroes of the three forces.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was His Excellency Mahinda Rajapakse, the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, who attended this glamorous event along with the First Lady Madam Shiranthi Rajapakse.
Captain Aruni Silva of the Sri Lanka Army won the trophy in the face of stiff competition with other competitors, making history as the Ranaviru Real Star - Mission IV.
The winner was presented the keys to a brand new luxury house valued at Rs. 20 million by First Lady Madam Shiranthi Rajapaksa. The second place secured by LAC Deshan Dayarathna of the Sri Lanka Air Force who was presented with the key to a brand new Toyota "Yaris” car and a cash prize of 1 million Rupees along with a trophy.
The third and fourth places went to Medical Assistant Class 1 BAS Rishi and Lance Corporal KS Suranga of Sri Lanka Navy and Army respectively. The fifth and sixth places were secured by Captain MPRY Fernando and Lance Corporal WLMSK Lepothdeniya of the Sri Lanka Army while the seventh place was secured by the Major SKTW Chandrakumara of Sri Lanka Army. They were also awarded with valuable cash prizes, LED (HD) T.V.s, Dialog Satellite Connections, mobile phones and trophies.
Moreover, competitors who secured positions from 7th place to 38th place were awarded special prizes by the service Commanders.
The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke and Mrs Roshani Gunatilleke congratulated LAC Deshan Dayarathna immediately after the event and spoke to his parents congratulating them.
First Lady, Mrs. Shiranthi Rajapaksa, Chairperson of the MoD Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa, Service Commanders, Senior Ministry Officials and Senior Military officers were among the distinguished invitees. A large number of servicemen, family members of the contesters and fans were also attended the event.
