SLAF Conducted Heli-Borne Operations Training in Preparation for 'Cormorant strike'

SLAF conducted Heli borne Operations training to SL Army Special Forces (Commandos and Special Forces) at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda and SLAF Academy China bay from 12 Aug 14 to 14 Aug 14. Training was conducted in preparation for the tri-services joint exercise “Cormorant Strike”.
The exercise is scheduled to be conducted in three phases, Joint training, Execution, and Demonstration. Troops representing foreign countries are also expected to take part in the exercise.
Mi-17s and Bell-212s flew the training missions and conducted Infill/Ex-fill ops, rappelling and rig /drop exercises. Fixed wing Aircraft in the SLAF’s fleet will also provide air support during the other two phases of the exercise.
