SLAF Women’s weight lifters won the Women’s Championship whilst SLAF Men’s team secured the Runner up Trophy at the Defence Services Weight Lifting Championship 2014 concluded on 22 August 2014 at the Indoor Stadium of the SL Navy Base Welisara.

SLAF weight lifter LAC Peters SM created a new Sri Lanka record in Clean & Jerk event in 105Kg weight category at the Defence Services Weight Lifting Championship.
SLAF Women team secured 27 points, winning 04 Gold Medals, 02 Silver Medals and 01 Bronze Medal. In the Men’s events SLAF scored 25 points, winning 02 Gold Medals and 05 Silver Medals.

Director General of Health Services of the Sri Lanka Navy Rear Admiral Lalith Ekanayake graced the Finals as the Chief Guest.
