SLAF Judokas Win 03 Gold Medals In Singapore

SLAF judokas bagged the only 03 gold medals which were won by the Sri Lankan judo team that competed at the Commonwealth Judo Championship, which concluded on Sunday in Singapore. Squadron Leader Manjula Weerasinghe succeeded in winning two gold medals in the open event and the under 73 Kg weight category whilst Airman Senarath managed to win the gold medal in the under 66 Kg category. Mean while the Sri Lankan team won a total of 07 Silver and 03 Bronze medals in addition to the above.


The Commonwealth Judo Championship was held in Singapore from 08 to 12 January 2010, in which Players from 21 countries that included countries like New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, England, South Africa, Mauritius and Sri Lanka had also participated.
