Thrills and spills, excitement and great sportsmanship marked the Rotherham Circuit Meet 2014  which was concluded successfully at the Sri Lanka Air Force Unit Katukurunda on 12 October 2014.

The motor car and bike racing competition worked off at the Katukurunda Airstrip, now renowned as a premier motor racing venue, saw the participation of the big names in the local racing scene as well as a massive crowd to witness the event that showcased some fantastic driving skills on the tarmac track.

The Chairperson SLAF SVU Mrs. Roshani Gunatilleke, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Vice Marshal GP Bulathsinghala, members of the Air Force Board of management, Chairman of the SLAF motor racing Air Commodore JSI Wijemanne, Senior officers, officers as well as airmen and women with their families attended the event.
 
All proceeds of the event will be directed towards the worthy cause of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit welfare projects.  CEAT came forward as the main sponsor of the Rotherham Circuit Meet 2014, while Bank of Ceylon brought on its support as the principle sponsor.  People’s Bank, Brantel (E-Tel), Stafford Motors (HONDA) and Etisalat were on board as co-sponsors of the event, helping bring an exciting racing event for the motor racing enthusiasts. Keels and Coca Cola also added their support to the SLAF in organizing the event.

The Electronic Media (TV) sponsor Rupavahini Corporation, Electronic Media sponsor (Radio) ABC Network and the Media (Print) sponsor ANCL as well as the other media organizations also participated enthusiastically  in the event.
