The Sri Lanka Air Force Rowing team participating at the 1st National Indoor Rowing Championships won many key events including clocking the fastest timing of 6 min 41 seconds in the Open Men’s 2000 meters event by experienced rower LAC Chathuranga MKB from among nearly 300 participants. This is the fastest time to be recorded since the inception of this event back in year 2010, although it was not a National event until year 2015.

The Air Force team facing stiff competition from its arch rivals the Sri Lanka Army went on to win the Men’s 26 – 29 years category by winning two Gold, one Silver and One bronze  despite being outnumbered by the number of rowers

This event was organized by the General Sir John Kothelawala Defence University and the Bolgoda Lake Rowing Club in collaboration with the Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka. The event was held at the General Sir John Kothelawala Defence University from 26th to 28th February 2015
