SLAF sportsmen and women were at the helm of many Sri Lankan victories at the 11th SAF Games concluded in Dhaka. Forty two SLAF personnel being a part of the Sri Lanka contingent was incidentally a record for SLAF participation in a National contingent.

Airwomen Chandrika Subashini Rasanayake was outstanding with two golds in the 200m and 400 m sprints on the track, whilst Premila Priyadarshini and Sujani Buddhika were a part of the 4 x 100 gold medal winning relay team. Premila Priyadarshini incidentally won the Silver in both the 100m and 400m sprints whilst Chandrika Subashini Rasanayake was a member of the Silver winning 4 x 400 relay team.
