Air Force Athletes who represented Sri Lanka in the Asian Athletics Championship in China, returned home after a successful tour on 09 June 2015.

With the guidance of Chairman, SLAF Athletics Air Cdre SK Pathirana and Secretary Gp Capt D Munasinghe, Air Force athletes performed extremely well at the Championship.  LAC Nimali WKLA won the Bronze medal in women’s 800m after 22 years, Cpl Manjula Kumara WP placed 4th in the Men’s High Jump, Fg Off RMCS Rasnayake placed 4th in the women’s 400m and LAC Gunarathne YMWAM placed 5th in the 4 X 400m.

The returning athletes were received by the Assistant Secretary SLAF Athletics, Wg Cdr KC Serasinghe and Team Manager F/Sgt Prasanna at the Bandaranayke International AirPort.
