Change of Command of the Sri Lanka Air Force

Air Chief Marshal KA Gunatilleke handed over command of the Sri Lanka Air Force to Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala, on the evening on 15th June 2015.
The Handing over ceremony, where the outgoing Commander handed over the ceremonial baton symbolizing the Command of the Sri Lanka Air Force, took place at an event attended by the members of the Air Force Board of Management, Officers and other ranks.
Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala assumed office as the 15th Commander of the Air Force this morning (16 June 2015). Addressing the gathering, he thanked all past commanders, officers, other ranks and civilian staff who contributed with courage and determination to make the Air Force an excellent and professional Air Force recognized by the entire world. He also remembered those who had sacrificed their lives and limbs in the 30 year conflict with terrorism and undertook to work with dedication and commitment to ensure the future progress of the Air Force. He also stated that it was his desire and intention to ensure that the image of the military forces of Sri Lanka is elevated to greater esteem by paying special attention to the two Helicopter Detachments presently with the United Nations Peace Keeping Operations.
