SLAF Station Morawewa Celebrates Its 42nd Anniversary

SLAF Station Morawewa celebrated its 42nd Anniversary on 29 July 2015 under the patronage of the Commanding Officer Wg Cdr MPS Marapperuma. A series of events were organized, commencing with Shramadana Campaigns, blood donation campaign, medical campaign, renovation of Muddikulam D-1 Pullayar temple and renovation of poor resident’s house at Moraweawa area.
Shramadana campaigns were conducted at Nochchikulama Tamil school, Morawewa Singhala Maha Vidyalaya and Namalwaththa Muslim school on 24 July 2015.
Muddikulam D-1 Pullayar temple was renovated by the Station and declared opened for prayers on 26 July 2015 with participation of Tamil community. A Medical campaign was also conducted on the same day to provide medical assistance for more 120 poor villagers at Morawewa area.
A blood donation campaign was organized at the Station premises on 27 July 15 with more than 103 service personals and civil staff donating blood during the campaign.
Further SLAF Stn Mow was able to assist one of the poor families that live in Moraweawa area by renovating their house.
The formation day celebrations on 29 July 15 included a cricket tournament with the participation of officers, other ranks and civil staff and the calibrations were concluded after lunch with all ranks and civilian staff.
