The tri-services joint exercise “Cormorant Strike” is scheduled to be conducted in three phases, Joint training, Execution, and Demonstration. Troops representing foreign countries are also expected to take part in the exercise.
 
SLAF conducted heli borne Operations training for SL Army Special Forces (Commandos and Special Forces) at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda and SLAF Academy China bay on 24 to 29 Aug 15 and 30 Aug 15 respectively. Mi-17s and Bell-212s flew the training missions and conducted Infil/Exfil ops, Rappelling, Rig and drop exercises.
 
The briefing of air component before deployment on execution for the exercise was conducted at No 09 Sqn Hin on 02 Sep 15 with the participation of representatives of flying Squadrons, Air liaison Officers and Forward Air Controllers.
