The programme was conducted on a request made to AFHQ by the Government Agent Ampara Mr Thusitha P. Wanigasinghe under guidance and supervision of Gp Capt C Wickramaratne, Commanding Officer SLAF Station Ampara.  The course included basic firefighting techniques, hazard prevention, basic operations of the fire vehicle and pumps, first aid fire appliances, casualty evacuation, ropes and knots and etc.

The Government Agent who graced the closing ceremony of the course conveyed his sincere gratitude to the Commander of the SLAF for granting the opportunity to train the fire brigade promptly without hesitation. Further, he thanked fire staff at SLAF Stn Ampara for providing the training wholeheartedly and emphasized that the training conducted has made his fire staff professional, disciplined, and capable to face any fire emergency with confidence. Concluding the event Commanding Officer thanked the fire staff and the Regiment Training Centre for conducting the programme successfully.
