A grooming workshop for the lady Officers of the SLAF was organized by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit with the supervision of Directorate of Training on 23rd   October 2015 at the ‘Image Academy of Hair and Beauty’ Wellawatta.  

The full day workshop was steered by Mrs. Nayana Karunarathne, Directress of ‘Image Academy of Personality Development’ and two workshops have been arranged to be conducted for all lady officers in the SLAF.

The objective of this workshop was personality development with the aim of improving awareness of the value and responsibility of being a Lady Officer of the Air Force.

Mrs. Nayana Karunarathne was able to enrich the participants with her own experiences and delivered valuable tips on being a dutiful woman, wife, mother and servicewoman. Responsibilities as a Guest or a Host, simple and effective tips on planning functions, dining etiquette, significance of maintaining good health and personal hygiene were among the highlights of the day which also included practical demonstrations of sari draping, hair styles and make up of chosen participants.
 
A second workshop is scheduled for the 29th October at the same institute for a second batch of Lady Officers.
