The 37th  Base Day of SLAF Base Vavuniya  was celebrated on 27th October 2015. To commemorate the  Day a community service project  and recreational activities were organized under the guidance of the Base Commander Group Captain RAUP Rajapaksa together with all Officers, other ranks and the civilian staff.

The Base Day celebrations commenced with the morning parade taken by the Base Commander and followed by a Rugby tournament and soft ball Cricket tournament. The event concluded with an all ranks lunch.

Coinciding with the Base day celebrations, Shramadana Campaigns were conducted at Isingbessagala Temple and Alagalla Maha Vidyalaya on 26th October 2015. This was followed by Medical and Dental Clinics at Alagalla Maha Vdyalaya Vavuniya for the children.
