Fifty Three sports stars, who brought honour and fame to Sri Lanka Air Force with their winning performances at the 12th South Asian Games 2016 were felicitated with service promotions and cash awards by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala at a remarkable ceremony held on 18 February 2016 at SLAF Headquarters, Colombo.

This felicitation ceremony was organized in a view to motivate and encourage sportsmen and women of SLAF to bring more glory to the SLAF and motherland.

Members of the Board of Management and Members of the Air Force Sports Council were also present at the occasion.

Following Gold medallists were promoted to the next higher rank as follows

To the rank of sergeant
  Cpl Manjula Kumara  
  Cpl JeewnJayasinghe
  Cpl Nimali Liayanarachchi

To the rank of Corporal
  Aircraftman Ishara Sadaruwan
