No 01 ADRS Celebrates 10th Anniversary

No 01 Air Defence Radar Squadron Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake celebrated their 10th anniversary on 10th March 2016. The squadron was established in year 2006 as the first Air Defence Radar Squadron in Sri Lanka. Since its establishment, the squadron has played a significant role in safe guarding the National Air Space.
A series of events were organized to celebrate the formation day, under the guidance of Commanding Officer Wg Cdr GGSR Gunawardana.
The formation day parade was held and was followed by a cricket tournament with the participation of all the squadron personnel.
A shramadana campaign was carried out at Sri Sobharama Viharaya, Jayabima, Kadirana. Also a dinner was served for children in the Lakshmi Children Home at Averiwatta Katunyake and the children were entertained with musical session organised by the squadron personnel.
