Annual Commander's Inspection of Sri Lanka Air Force Station, Ampara and Batticaloa

The Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Air Force Air
Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke conducted the Annual Inspection of
SLAF Stations Ampara and Batticaloa yesterday (19 March 2010).
In Ampara station the Commanding Officer Group Captain Chinthaka Dias received the Commander on his arrival to the Station and a Guard of Honour was conferred by Flight Lieutenant Ranga Dasanayaka. Sri Lanka Air Force Regiment Training Center is located at this Station and Advance training of Regiment Officers and Gunners is conducted here.
The Batticaloa Station Commanding Officer Group Captain Peterson Fernando received the Commander on his arrival to above Station and a Guard of Honour was conferred by Flight Lieutenant SP Thoradeniya. During the inspection Commander opened an Explosive Storage facility.
Both Stations function as main hubs of Air Operation for the Eastern.
