This morning (23rd Mar 2010) the  first Defence Services Sports Board (DSSB) meeting for the year 2010 was held at AFHQ and was Chaired by Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Air Force Air Chief Marshall Roshan Goonetilleke. The Commander of the Army Lt Gen Jagath Jayasuriya and Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe too attended. Air Vice Marshall PB Premachandra Chief of Staff of the SLAF, Maj Gen Daya Ratnayake Chief of Staff of the Army, and Chief of Staff of the Navy  Rear Admiral DWAS Dissanayake also attended the meeting.

The DSSB Chairmanship rotates among the three Services and the SLAF hosts the Chairmanship for 2010. Incidentally this is the first occasion after many years that the three Service Commanders have graced a meeting of the DSSB together.
 
Air Commodre Anura Silva the Chairman of the Defence Services Games 2010  organising committee carried out a special presentation in relation to the conduct of the 2010 Games which will be hosted by the SLAF.

The SLAF won the Defence Services Games 2009 and will defend the title this time around.
