Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Visits SLAF Air Operations Room

Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi paid a visit to the SLAF Air Operations Room at the Air Force Headquarters on 20 May 2016.
Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala gave a warm welcome on his arrival.
Secretary to the Ministry of Defence observed the on-going air assets management for rescue missions and flood relief distribution carried out by the SLAF.
Subsequently, Senior Air Staff Officer Group Captain Lasitha Sumanaweera conducted a briefing on the number of rescue missions launched, the provision of food, water and medical facilities to affected area.
Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Ranil Gurusinghe, and Officers of the Directorate of Air Operations were also present at the Air Operations Room.
