No 4 VVIP Helicopter Squadron Celebrates 51th Anniversary

No 4 VVIP Helicopter Squadron SLAF Base Ratmalana celebrated its 51st anniversary on 1st June 2016.
Commanding Officer Gp Capt MASK Maheepala reviewed the parade. Addressing the parade, CO reminded the heritage of the No 4 Squadron and the milestones of its 51 years, which begins from the Dragonfly helicopter of the No 2 Squadron in 1955 established for Search and Rescue role to the modern Bell 412 EP and MI-17 Helicopters role of flying the Head of the State at present.
Subsequently, a donation of school items for children, who affected from flash floods in Kaduwela area was held and a “Blood donation campaign” was held at the Hospital SLAF Base Rma on 27 May 2016 with the participation of all Officers, airmen and civilian staff of the Squadron.
