The First SLAF Team Returns from United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan

The First Team of the first Contingent of Air Force Aviation Unit under the United Nations helicopter deployment in the South Sudan (UNMISS) arrived in Sri Lanka today (9 June 16).
This team comprising 55 SLAF personnel and they completed 12 month tenure UNMISS.
They were replaced by the first team of the second contingent who left Sri Lanka yesterday.
Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake Air Commodore Sagara Kotakadeniya, Staff Officer Ground Operations I Air Commodore Nishen Abeysinghe, Officers and the family members of the arriving personnel were present at the Arrival lounge.
