Corporal Bandara MK of Sri Lanka Air Force who tragically demised whiles on duty and 97 UN peacekeeping troops served in peacekeeping missions were honoured at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA.

Secretary-General of the United Nations Mr Ban Ki-moon and the United Nations Representative in Sri Lanka, Dr. Rohan Perera also present at the event.

Sri Lanka Ambassador to the United Nations Office, Spokesman Major General Ubaya Madawala  accepted the medal for Corporal Bandara MK.
