A Welfare Shop for personnel at SLAF Station Ekala was declared open yesterday (31st March 2010) by Director Welfare Air Commodore WA Silva. This shop was renovated under the supervision of Commanding Officer Group Captain AJ Amarasinghe.  

 Under this concept shops have been established throughout the SLAF and are centrally supplied by the Central Welfare shop established at Guwanpura in Colombo. The Welfare shop provides all essentials at extremely low cost.

The project was a brain child of Commander himself to ensure the welfare of the men and women under his Command.
