SLAF Academy China Bay and SLAF Trade Training School Ekala emerged  men's  and women's  Water Polo champions respectively  at the Inter  Unit Water Polo Championship 2016 concluded at SLAF Base Ratmalana on 11 July 2016.

SLAF Base Anuradhapura and SLAF Station Colombo secured the runners up in the men's and women's categories.

Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Chief of Staff of SLAF Air Vice Marshal Ranil Gurusinghe, Board of Management of the SLAF, Chairman SLAF Aquatics and Director Administration of SLAF Air Vice Marshal CP Welikala, Officers and Other ranks also witnessed the event.
