The SLAF Team emerged men's champions at the Defence Service Tug of War Men's Championship beating Sri Lanka Army concluded on 05 August 2016 at Sports Ground, SLAF Base Katunayake.

The Director General Naval & Air Operations Rear Admiral Sarath Mohotty graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Chairman SLAF Tug of War Group Captain KC Geethapriya, Officers and Other Ranks of tri forces present at the finals.
