Aeromedical Evacuation Subject Matter Expert Exchange Programme-“Pacific Angel 2016 - 03 Exercise”

US Air Force Pacific Angel Subject Matter Expert Exchange programme was organized by the Directorate of Health Services Sri Lanka Air Force. This programme was held at SLAF Base Katunayake for 5 days commencing from 15th August 2016 by welcoming the US delegation by the Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore Sagara Kotakadeniya.
The programme was held for the second time with the participation of members of the Sri Lanka and US Air Forces which was co hosted by US Pacific Air Force. It gave a path to train and exchange expert knowledge among 20 participants including Medical Officers, Pilots, Nurses and Air crew, on principles of Aero Medical Evacuation. Further to above an Exercise on Aero Medical Evacuation was performed utilizing US C130 Aircraft which took off from Bandaranayake International Airport Katunayake to Jaffna and back.
The programme was successfully concluded on 19th of August 2016 following a graduation ceremony with the presence of AVM Sumangala Dias the Director Air Operations and Air Commodore Lalith Jayaweera the Director of Health services of Sri Lanka Air Force.
