For the first time in the history, a team of Sri Lankan Defence Services players left the country for the 10th World military Golf Championship in Netherlands to represent Sri Lanka on 28 August 2016.

Commander of the Air Force addressed and congratulated the participating team, Chief of the Mission/Chairmen of Golf and the officials of the Air Force Sports Council, prior to their departure for the Championship.
