The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy, paid homage to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, Kandy on 29th September 2016 seeking blessings on his new appointment.

 Prior to his visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, he called on the Chief Incumbent of the Asgiriya Chapter, Most Venerable Warakagoda Gnanarathana Thero. Afterwards, he called on Chief Incumbent of the Malwathu Chapter, Most Venerable Thibbotuwawa Sri Sumangala Thero.

Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy was accompanied by his family members and several SLAF personnel.
