The 15th National Wushu Championship concluded at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on19 October 2016.

VAW/01673 LAC Kumari bagged three Gold Medals for Taolu event at two individual routines and one duel routine. VAW/01644 LAC Madumali WPM bagged a Gold Medal for 52Kg Sanda event. SLAF Men’s & Women’s players bagged 4 Gold, 4 Silver and 5 Bronze medals and secured the third place of the Championship.

Minister of Prison Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs Hon. DM Swaminathan graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. Chairman SLAF Wushu Air Commodore HBDJ Karunarathne, officers and other ranks of Tri-Services along with office bearers, members of the other Wushu Clubs witnessed the event.
