SLAF Station Koggala Celebrates its 32nd Annivesary

Sri Lanka Air Force Station Koggala celebrated its 32nd anniversary on 19 October 2016.
The celebrations began with a “Sharamadhana Campaign” organized to clean the Habaraduwa Public Cemetery and Crematorium premises. The “Shrmadana” conducted throughout the day was highly appreciated by the public who thanked SLAF for the great community service rendered.
Further, in line with the anniversary celebrations a cricket tournament was played among teams representing all personnel of the station.
On 18 October 16, an all-night “Pirith” chanting ceremony was conducted followed by an alms giving offered to the “Mahasanga” at station premises to invoke blessings on the SLAF, the station and all personnel who have rendered their services to develop the station to the present standard. The religious event was presided over by Ven Koggala Wimala Keerthi, the chief incumbent of Irugal Dewalaya Temple, Koggala with participation of many other Buddhist clergy of the area and attended by the Commanding Officer, all Officers, other ranks, civil staff and their families.
The anniversary celebrations were organized under the guidance of Commanding Officer Gp Capt C Wickramartne.
