'Iddamal Udanaya' at SLAF Ekala

SLAF Station Ekala held its traditional "Bak Maha Ulela" yesterday (20th April 2010), theme named the “IDDAMAL UDANAYA” all ranks, Civilians and their families participated in the event.
The concept of the event was to inculcate and emphasize the importance of the traditional Sinhala & Tamil New Year and and its customs among the younger generation by targeting the trainees of this Station.
The event was conducted under the patronage of Commanding Officer Group Captain Janaka Amarasinghe. The most eye-catching feature was the “Nakath Rala” educating the gathering of all traditional events of the Sinhala & Tamil New Year.
In addition to traditional activities the winners of the traditional games were presented prizes at the conclusion.
