SLAF 66th Anniversary Exhibition and Tattoo -2017 Starts With a Success

Sri Lanka Air Force 66th Anniversary Exhibition and Tattoo -2017, the air show and the educational exhibition was declared open by Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva on 03 March 2017 on the invitation of the Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy at SLAF Base Ratmalana.
The 66th Anniversary Tattoo will show case the SLAF’s military proficiency as well as her capabilities to handle its role in the national and regional landscape. It will showcase the multipurpose air assets in her inventory, and demonstrate to the public its capabilities in offensive roles, in providing humanitarian assistance in times of natural and manmade disasters as well as in helping to stabilize and shape the international landscape.
The Exposition will also provide a forum for domestic Air Operators and Aviation Sector Educational Institutions, to showcase and promote the growing aviation industry in Sri Lanka.
The Chief Guest paid a visit to each and every exhibit and also looked over the facilities before the others to make sure everything was perfect. A large number of school students were first to get the opportunity to witness the exhibition where they were educated in aspects aeronautical and others.
Furthermore, a Fly Past, Aerobatic Displays, a Parachute Display, a Display by Regimental Special Forces, an Air Dog Show, a Band and Drill Display, a Cultural Show and a Musical Extravaganza add up the programme of the tattoo.
The 66th Anniversary Tattoo will continue to 5th March 2017, and will showcase a total of 52 stalls coupled with a Kiddies Play area and food stalls. Here is a great opportunity for you to see up close the fighter and other air assets of the Sri Lanka Air Force for a very nominal fee.
