No. 2 ADRS Celebrates Its 11th Anniversary
The No. 02 Air Defence Radar Squadron SLAF Base Vna Celebrated its 11th Anniversary on 10th March 2017 giving prominence to social and religious activities.
No. 2 ADRS was inaugurated on 10th March 2006 and played a key role in the battle against the enemy Air Power. To mark this event, a Shramadana campaign, Medical and Dental clinics were conducted for the children in Arugampuleliya Primary School at Iratteperiyakulam on 08th March 2017 followed by a ‘Bodhi Pooja’ in Sri Bodhi Dakshinarama Maha Viharaya at Vavuniya and a ‘Gana Devi Pooja’ at the Kovil inside the Base on same day evening.
Subsequently, a Blood Donation Campaign was conducted in Base hospital in collaboration with National Blood Bank Vavuniya. Also a newly constructed water point for drinking and washing purposes was handed over to Arugampuleliya Primary School at Iratteperiyakulam under the guidance of Commanding Officer Wg Cdr ECA Jayasundara on 09th March 2017. Both occasions were graced by the Base Cmdr SLAF Base Vavuniya Air Cdre DJC Weerakoon.
