The SLAF Oarsmen won the "Vice Chancellor Kotelawala Defence University Challenge Trophy " to become Champions in the 'Elite category' by winning the team event and being placed 2nd and 3rd in the individual events at the first ever Indoor Rowing Championship conducted in Sri Lanka.

The SLAF Oarsmen rowing in other categories were able to enter the medals table amidst tough competition from the Hosts of the event.

This novel event was organized and conducted by the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) and Bolgoda Lake Rowing Club (BLRC) on 01st and 02nd May 2010 at an indoor facility of the BLRC.
