52nd Anniversary Commemoration of the No 4 VVIP Helicopter Squadron
The No 4 VVIP Helicopter Squadron celebrates 52 years of service to the nation today. Since its establishment in 01 June 1965, the squadron has always been ever ready for any given mission.
In commemoration of its 52nd Anniversary, a parade was conducted by the squadron, in which the Commanding Officer, Wg Cdr KADAC Kuruwita, highlighted the invaluable service that is being rendered by all personnel of the squadron. He further stated that, it is the duty of all present, to carry on the legacy of the squadron for the betterment of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
Further, a blood donation campaign was organized on 24 May 2017 at the Base Hospital, SLAF Base Rma, in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service. A large number of volunteers arrived to donate since its commencement at 0900 hours. More than 100 pints of blood was collected from over 150 volunteers, making the event a success.
