CEW at SLAF Base Katunayake Celebrates its’ 14th Anniversary

Civil Engineering Wing SLAF Base Katunayake, celebrated its’ 14th anniversary on 13 June 2017.
The CEW presently consists of 20 Civil Engineering officers and 1432 airmen trained under various disciplines in the field of Civil Engineering. Further, CEW is established to undertake all the major construction and rehabilitation in the Sri Lanka Air Force and the State sector as planned by the Air Force Headquarters.
The formation day celebrations began with an address of the Commanding Officer Wing Commander MBCD Muthuthanthri. This was followed by a Soft ball cricket tournament held with the participation of all service & civil personal at the sports ground of SLAF Base Katunayake.
Further, a Blood donation campaign was held at the SLAF Base Hospital Katunayake on 6 June 2017 as a part of the Formation day celebrations. A total of 133 volunteers participated in this worthy event, organized by the CEW in collaboration with SLAF Base Hospital Katunayake and General Hospital Negombo.
