AFCW celebrates its 08th Anniversary
Air Field Construction Wing (AFCW) SLAF Base Ratmalana celebrates its 08th anniversary on 20th June 2017. The anniversary day parade was organized at the base parade square and the parade inspection was carried out by the Commanding Officer Group Captain KIS De Silva.
A blood donation campaign was organized on 20th June 2017 at the AFC Wing premises in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion service. A large number of volunteers arrived to donate since its commencement at 0930Hrs. More than 150 Pints of bloods were collected from 200 volunteers including Officers, making the event a success.
In view of celebration its 08th anniversary a Shramadana campaign was carried at the Bellanvila Rajamaha Viharaya on 20th June 2017 with the participation of many airmen of the AFC Wing.
The AFC Wing presently consist of 10 Civil Engineering Officers and 468 Airmen trained under various field of Civil Engineering. Further, AFCW is established to undertake all Civil Engineering Construction in the SLAF including Runways and Roads.
