SLAF 2nd Contingent Returns From UNMISS

The 2nd Contingent of Air Force Aviation Unit under the United Nations helicopter deployment in the South Sudan (UNMISS) arrived in Sri Lanka.  The First team consisting 62 personnel arrived on 27 June 2017 and the second team (32 personnel) returned to the country in the early hours today (01 July 2017).

The 2nd Contingent comprising 94 SLAF personnel completed 12 month tenure at UNMISS.

Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake Air Commodore Prasanna Payoe, Officers  and family members of the arriving personnel were present at the Arrival lounge at Bandaranaike International Airport.
