Lac Liyanage LCS of Sri Lanka Air Force represented Sri Lanka National team for World Taekwondo championship held in Korea and won a Gold Medal in fly weight category.

SLAF Taekwondo coach LAC Rathnasekara represented the country as the National team coach.

The winning members of the SLAF team arrived the country on 12 July 2017 and were welcomed by the Chairman SLAF Taekwondo Air Commodore Ruchira Samarasinghe and other officials at the arrival lounge at the Bandaranaike International Airport.
