The 70th anniversary of the SLAF Hospital, Katunayake was celebrated on 23 July 2017. To commemorate this event, an all-night ‘Pirith Chanting’ ceremony was held on 25 July 2017 at the hospital premises.

The ‘Reliquary’ (Karaduwa) was taken to the hospital in a colourful procession and placed in the ‘Pirith Mandapaya. Subsequent to the all night Pirith chanting, an alms giving was accorded to the Bhikkhunis on 26 July 2017 morning.

Commanding Officer SLAF Hospital Katunayake Group Captain NDB Abeysekara, Officers, other ranks and civilian staff of the hospital participated in the all night pirith chanting ceremony and the alms-giving.
